Better day ahead....

Our little monkey is feeling much better, or at least she seems to be. She has been eating great today, and even took a 2 hour nap. She's been playing and smiling all day and she even got to go for a ride with mommy and daddy out to the corn field.

Now I wonder....

Now, I am starting to worry! Gabby has had a low grade fever (on and off) since Thursday, she's hardly eaten anything since then.. maybe up to 15oz. of formula a day (normally she eats 24oz a day along with cereal in the morning and solids at lunch and supper) and I have laid off the 'solids' just so I can at least get the important, 'fatty' formula in her. She hardly wants that. She's only had about 12oz. today with a little cereal mixed in this morning. She hasn't eaten since 5:30pm and has been sleeping since 7:30pm (it's now 9:30). She has never been a napper, very rarely does she go down for more then 45 minutes at a time and now it seems that at 7:30pm, she naps for 3 hours. What's the fuss you say? She 'normally' goes to bed anywhere between 9pm - 10pm... and has since she was born even with the napping pattern. She seems upbeat, happy... most of the time. She ate her cereal really well this morning... she just seems tired... ALL THE TIME and never wants to eat. And any of you that know my daughter know that she never doesn't want to not eat. She rarely has pushed the bottle away from me since she was born and now... it seems like that is all she does. She napped last night from 7:30pm to 9:00pm and then she went back down just before 11pm. Minus the couple 3 or 4 times she woke up crying, she slept until 7am. Mommy's???... is this normal? I was under the impression that she was teething. She didn't fuss at all for her bottom 2 teeth, is this out of the norm for the top ones? :( Any advice is welcome...and appreciated!

Naps at night?

Okay, what the funky monkey? Last night she slept from 7:30pm-10:30pm, got up to eat almost 5 oz. and play a little bit. Back down at 11:30pm and didn't wake until 9am. Of course, I didn't sleep cause I was in a strange place, wondering if she was okay, plus I had to start the furnace for the first time in the camper cause it was 55º in her room. And you know how the furnace smells the first time you turn it on?... like you just lit your hair on fire. Not to mention, the first time I started the furnace in the camper... and I am new to the whole thing. I was worried I didn't have something set right, or the gas was leaking or something (is there a point and time that we DON'T worry?). Now tonight, she is out at 7:30pm again...and it's 9:30pm now... oh wait, I hear her. Either way, she never takes 2 hour naps and all of the sudden she is taking them at night??? What the hay ray? No matter, at least her fever has gone down and it feels as though that tooth is going to poke through tomorrow... (crossies). Hopefully, now tonight, she sleeps as well at home as she did last night. Of course, I made her the queen of all beds lastnight in her room in the camper... I almost fell asleep next to her. :)

Sleeping well... sortof

Even thought she didn't feel well and after going to bed early (8:30), she didn't wake up until 9am. Which for her, is rare... unless daddy has morning duty or mommy is out of town... usually she is up by 7-7:30. She's had another 'tough' day, for her. In checking her temp again tonight before bed, she was up to 100.9, she felt on fire... obviously. But she ate 4oz. tonight before bed and off she went. Hopefully, she has another good night. Only time will tell. I sure hope that tooth pokes thru here pretty soon! Poor monkey!

Crazy night

Gabby has been really good, even though she already has 2 teeth on the bottom (since she was 5 months) and until one day I felt in her mouth and wah=bam... there it was. By her behavior, I never would have known otherwise. I really have no complaints about her, but I felt really bad for her tonight. She went to the YMCA daycare while I ran, then went to class. When I went in to get her, she was good, but a little fussy. They gave her a little bit to eat, but nothing to write home about and she looked really tired as I was packing her up. I knew she would fall asleep on the ride home, and well enough she did. We get home and I throw her in the crib (well, not literally, but you get the idea) and she slept for only about 1/2 hour... typical cat nap for my monkey! She gets up and plays for a bit, and then eats all of her Sweet Potatoes, but only 2oz. of her formula. Okay, she's never done that before... no biggy. We go to Rochester to do our shopping and she 'fake coughs' the whole time in Target... until she falls asleep that is. Out cold and out the door we go, she sleeps almost the whole ride home (which is about 30 minutes, because I like to take the back roads to let her sleep.) We get home and I get unpacked, she still seems kind of fussy, she doesn't want to play, she just wants me to hold her... that's fine, I like snuggles. So I got her out of her wet diaper and let her lay on a towel on the sun room floor and 'air out' a bit. (How would you want to be stuck in a diaper all day long?... exactly!) Dad comes in and, of course, she just wants to be held. She had felt warm all day to me, so tonight just before he bath I checked her temp and she was barely under 100ºF. I gave her some Tylenol, a warm bath and even let her play in the water (and make a disaster of my kitchen) extra long... oh well, she's only little once right?, and besides... it's just water! Super duper tired she is, I made her a bottle and she only had 4oz... which normally she always eats 6oz. even after she eats her fruits and veggies, but at bedtime, I only give her formula. Needless to say, she wasn't herself tonight. So as I sit, holding her, she was slapping her arm along my chest... which she usually doesn't do... I decided, maybe she just wants to go to bed. (Normally, she doesn't go to bed till 9:30-10pm, and it was 8:30 when she was doing this). I took her in her room, placed her in her crib...eyes wide open (as usual)... said 'I LOVE YOU, SLEEP WELL SWEET ANGEL' and she rolled her head to one side, (with Taggies blanket tight in one hand) and she was out cold! Poor thing! That toofhie that I feel on the top better poke through soon!

Rockin' out

While at a birthday party for our friends daughter, another one of our friends captured this photo on the birthday girl's present. The funny thing about this, is that the tractor has a real radio on it and playing on the station was a rap song. This picture makes it look like Gabby is jammin' with the tunes on the tractor.

6 1/2 months...already!

Wow, time sure does fly by fast doesn't it? Gabby now has 2 teeth on the bottom, has had for a over a month, and one poking through on the top. She's eating fruits and vegetables now, along with her cereal in the morning. She LOVES them. She makes a 'mmmm' sound each time the spoon of food goes in her mouth. And, until just 2 days ago, she was actually a pretty 'clean' eater. Hardly having much on her face and she typically kept her fingers out of the way. But, that was short lived. She now puts her thumb in her mouth and sucks on it each time the spoon leaves her mouth (even though she is not a thumb sucker, oh sometimes I wish she was - ex. about 2am). I think this may have something to do with her top tooth poking through, but how the hell would I know, right? :) She is off the charts with her height and even leveled off with her weight. We went in for her shots 2 weeks ago and she took the first one without even a wince or a cry. However, the second one more or less scared her and here comes the tears... and then the cry! Fortunately, it was short lived... long enough to get her into my arms. Considering she was battling a cold, teeth coming in and shots, she did exceptionally well. :)

Here are a couple of my recent favorite photos.

"I've had it..."

"Mom, I told you... if you don't take me to see Dan Brady soon, I'm going to walk there"

Phew, thank goodness he will be here this weekend then huh? :)
